| This Elliptical is very poorly made and the quality is a joke. After using it exactly 20 min. it became as loud as a lawn mower. It really has nothing to do with the inside parts. It is all the bolts and screws moving as you are on it. And this is being used by a person weighing 145 lbs. Another thing it does not come with a power supply. You have to use 4 D batteries. That is not so bad you would think. But actually I used it ONE TIME.. and every time you get near it it detects movement and comes back on. So when I went to get on it again the batteries were dead. Had to change them out. Same thing again on my third use. I called proform to order a power supply...on hold forever then they just cut you off and say leave a number for a call back...ok...never a call back always on hold forever and then they say..sorry all agents are busy..GOODBYE!!!! OK so I get online and order the power supply.....$83.16....If you like a loud money pit...go for it...otherwise RUN not walk to the next elliptical. |
Piece of Junk, that will last for 3 months!

I bought this about 6 months ago. Use it about 3 times a week. It's not a very strong product. Although it is rated at 250lb max, I don't recommend it if you're over 200lb. Use only for light workouts. It sits in my bedroom , takes up less space so that I can get up early and watch tv and do a 20-25 min cadio. Like the heart monitor. Works fairly well. I got it on sale at Big5 for less than $200 , so it was not too bad for the price. Not meant for prolonged or heavy use. Couple days ago, I heard some rumbling in the rotor portion of it, and I was able to open it and fix it myself. Unless something serious breaks, I think it can be fixed fairly easily. Don't count on the customer service of proform. I've seen and heard several reviews that they suck big time. It's not worth shipping your product to them by paying to and fro charges.
Update: as of Oct 12 2009.

About 10 months ago, it broke. When i tried to fix, it I noticed it was extremely cheap construction with all the washers and sprockets all flying loose and got jammed. I'm only 165lb and use it only like couple times a week.
Stay away from this item. |
