Product Description

Enjoy a comfortable, calorie-burning workout in the comfort of your living room with the ProForm GT 95 X recumbent exercise bike. Equipped with interactive CrossTrainer technology and an innovative bike seat that converts to a workout bench, the GT 95 X makes an ideal addition to your workout arsenal. The CrossTrainer system is the bike's centerpiece, with an interactive fitness coach that prompts you to perform a variety of strength-training exercises throughout your cardio routine (the bike comes with a set of built-in 1-pound hand weights). As a result, you can tailor the workout to your needs and ability, with your choice of six targeted CrossTrainer workouts--two for the upper body, two for the lower body, and two for full body strengthening--and four personal trainer workouts. The silent magnetic resistance system, meanwhile, works quietly and efficiently, and invites you to further adjust your workout intensity with the press of a single button. The convertible bike seat is without a doubt the most original feature, however. Whether you're performing the CrossTrainer exercises or need a bench for larger dumbbells, the bike seat fits the description.

Other details include an easy-to-mount recumbent frame, a ClearView backlit console, an EKG heart rate monitor built into the handles, and a CoolAire workout fan.

About Recumbent Exercise Bikes
Despite the competition from trendy new fitness inventions, exercise bikes continue to be popular options for home exercise. They offer the same aerobic benefits of riding a bicycle at any time, in any weather, without leaving the comfort and safety of home. Exercise bikes don't take up much space, require little or no balance or coordination, and can provide an effective workout for all levels of users, from beginners to serious competitors. While the same could be said for a number of other types of home fitness equipment, the exercise bike is one of the few that allows you to watch television or read a magazine while you work out.

The term recumbent literally means "lying down." Exercising in a recumbent or reclining position allows the user to have full ergonomic back support, without causing strain on the arms, neck and shoulders, all of which can be common effects of using an upright bicycle. For many people, having convenient access to quality exercise equipment is critical to sticking with a long-term exercise program.

I use this GT 95 every day. I love it.

I put it together with one arm following shoulder surgery.
So far so good. A lot of parts to assemble

We just got ours by UPS yesterday. We got it on HSN.com (Now sold out) Weighed about 103 pounds and was completely in parts. My husband spent a few hours assembling it. It takes 4 D batteries for the display light and fan so make sure to have those on hand before it arrives. We bought this for my husband's knees. He has severe arthritis in both knees and found that riding the recumbent bikes at gym reduced the pain the next day. I purchased a recumbent bike because (with men) some of the taller bikes and other seats, men can get a numb feeling in a bad place which can also lead to reproductive complications. This bike has a great comfortable seat. The pedaling motion is as good if not better than the gym bikes and the display glows blue which I like all gadgets to glow blue. Fan and heart monitor seem to work well. He hasn't had time to go through all the preset programs yet. But so far, it was a good price and a great bike to get him.
You might want a drill press handy...

Reviewer: T. Melland,
The first task in the assembly is the front support pipe (yes I grabbed the smaller one per instructions), the holes in the pipe are 1' too far apart (hence the need for a drill press). There's no mention of an adapter plate nor is there any reference to one in the diagram so..... I have a drill press so I can fix that, but not everyone has one or has access to one and I wouldn't recommend trying to 'freehand' it. Until I finish the assembly I'll reserve further judgment but ProForm should be better than this .......
