About Elliptical Trainers
Elliptical trainers represent the next wave of advancement in low-impact cardiovascular exercise machines and continue to grow in popularity. By simulating motions experienced through walking, stepping, cycling, and skiing, elliptical machines allow for a smooth and fluid motion while building strength in the arms and legs. Similar to the exercise position for treadmills, elliptical trainers are used by standing in an upright position while holding the handrails of the machine. With elliptical trainers, however, your feet remain in the foot pedals throughout the exercise regimen and circulate in a smooth and seamless motion, resulting in little to no impact on the knees, back, and hips.

Elliptical trainers are compatible for all ages and fitness levels and allow you to select the difficulty level through the incline and intensity settings. Additionally, elliptical trainers allow you to determine the complexity of your workout based on your needs, all while listening to music, watching television, or reading a magazine while exercising in the comfort and safety of your own home.

Although different types of elliptical trainers offer an assortment of features, many of them include an array of challenging programs, forward and reverse directional movement, EKG grip pulse handles, a lightweight portable design with easy fold-up capability, and a monitor displaying calories burned, distance, speed, time, and heart rate. Other types of exercise machines, namely treadmills and bikes, offer excellent cardiovascular exercise and muscular training for the legs in a forward-motion exercise. Elliptical trainers take this to the next level by offering an upper and lower body workout with dual motion, challenging and diverse programs, and a low-impact exercise machine that won't strain sensitive joints.

The Stamina Trainer

I bought this machine based on some of the previous reviews I read, and I really like it. It really wasn't all that hard to assemble if you follow the directions it did take a couple of people for one part of the assembly, but other than that it was easy. I love how quiet and smooth this machine is. I think it is a great machine for the cost.
So far so good

So far I love my stamina. It takes two people to put it together and don't lose any screws, because there are no extras, but, other than that it's been great. It really is very quiet so I can listen to music or watch TV without having to blare it. I've had it for three weeks and I can already feel my muscles and heart getting stronger.
Good value workout machine, some minor issues

This is good choice if you don't have the money for the more expensive machines. I've had this for about 3 months now, and I use it almost every day and I'm getting into good shape.

The first issue I had with this is I noticed right out of the box that the cover had a crack and was peeling, so I crazy glued it all down. The second issue I had was that they gave me the wrong sized bolt for the stabilizer, so I went to the hardware store and bought a longer one. The third issue I had was when I started using it, the pedal arm kept unscrewing itself off and I had to constantly tighten it back down. I think I resolved that one now by tightening it basically until my arm hurt. Another issue I have is some minor squeaks now and then.

Don't let these small issues scare you away from purchasing this item though. If you go in not expecting the highest quality but wanting a sturdy workout machine and willing to fix some minor issues yourself, then you won't go wrong with this. For the price I think it's about the best you can do for a new machine online.
Just "ok"

The machine works. And I guess that is the most important part. But was it worth the trouble?

The package arrived opened and ripped. I left photos on the packaging feedback page. Luckily, the weather was fine and the product was not damaged because of this.

However, when I opened the box . . . The handle bar on the main frame was completely rusted. Per the manual instructions, I called the manufacturer directly, who was happy to send me a replacement part. However, I still have a rotted, rusted, part that I now have to discard myself. It's not a small item. Although I did received the replacement, it took an entire week and this piece was also rusted, but not nearly as bad. I kept it, not wanting to wait another week for a new, rusted part. The plastic covering on the main frame was torn. I noticed another buyer also has this issue. This does not effect the machine's performance, so I taped it down.

It's not the easiest thing to put together. The instructions are a little confusing. The main "neck" with the handle bars have 2 cables in the tube that connect to the base, and to the readout on top. When connecting to the base, I recommend you unscrew the cable connector and screw up the metal piece on the cable. Otherwise, this is impossible to connect (in Step 3). I also recommend pulling the cable through to the top and fastening it to something before putting the machine together. When connecting to the top piece, the cable was in the tube, out of reach. We had to unfasten the piece from the base and push the wire to the top.

So......if you order, just be wary of the packaging and the rust. And don't put it toether with anyone you don't like, b/c a fight may ensue! :) Good luck!
not super awesome, but worth the money

if you are on a budget and just need something, this will work...it's not as good as the ones at the gym but at least its something that helps you burn calories.
